ONEPOINT Projects, the leading vendor of easy-to-use enterprise project management (EPM) solutions, has been selected by leading IT analyst firm Gartner as one of the companies included in their 2010 Magic Quadrant for IT Project and Portfolio Management. The new research report evaluating vendors based on their completeness of vision and ability to execute was published June 7 by Daniel Stang and Michael Hanford and is available for purchase from Gartner's website.
ONEPOINT Projects focuses on integrated and easy-to-use enterprise project management solutions that are often used in an IT context, however more than 50% of ONEPOINT 's end user community consists of non-technical business people. While having concentrated mainly on improving formal project management according to the IPMA and PMI standards in 2009 and early 2010, ONEPOINT Projects's new development focus for the rest of this year is to seamlessly integrate agile with formal project management including connectivity to Atlassian's JIRA.
From an agile framework perspective, ONEPOINT Projects will be concentrating on Scrum. The major goal of the development initiative is to instantly enable key advantages of formal IPMA and PMI project management for agile projects. For instance, work breakdown structures will be visualizing sprints and agile tasks, overall resource utilization will automatically take sprint planning into account and formal project controlling and reporting will be available also for agile projects. With this, ONEPOINT Projects intends to close a gap that has recently formed in medium and large project organizations alike that today often prevents the project office from deploying agile project management on a greater scale. The first iteration of this new integrated approach to agile PM support will be released together with ONEPOINT Projects 10.1 later this summer.
ONEPOINT's flagship products are ONEPOINT Projects Enterprise Server and ONEPOINT Projects Enterprise Cloud that are available for on premise and OnDemand/SaaS deployment respectively. ONEPOINT Projects is licensed on a per-user basis and includes a solid set of enterprise project management functionality in its base offering. Further optional modules, so-called "options", are available for program management, risk management, issue tracking and project controlling allowing customers to pick and choose according to their focus areas and needs.
Free 60-day test-drives of ONEPOINT's entry-level ONEPOINT Projects 10 Group Server/Cloud (that are feature-wise identical to the Enterprise Server/Cloud, but limited to five users and do not include options) are available from the ONEPOINT Projects website.
